Facts About Energy Choice

Virginia Energy Choice is the Commonwealth's effort to introduce Virginians to a new option they may have to purchase electricity.

Currently, ANEC provides all components of electricity service to our customers. ANEC does it all - provides the energy, transmits it and then delivers it into your home or business.

With Virginia Energy Choice, customers may have the opportunity to shop for energy services by choosing a competitive service provider (CSP), which is the company that has a supply of electricity to sell.

No matter who you choose to supply your power, ANEC will continue to

• Provide the delivery of electricity
• Restore your service if the power goes out
• Perform monthly billing for delivery of service

If you do not want to switch suppliers, you do not have to switch. If you are now served by ANEC and you make no choice, we will continue to provide your electricity supply. All customers will be able to choose their electric energy provider by January 1, 2004.
